The seller is owner #3. Says "moving on to other interests" is his reason for selling. When asked what he has enjoyed most about the BLACKFIN, the owner says he really likes the flybridge, the low engine hours, and the obvious "big boat feel".
Seller has performed all his own maintenance, and says maintenance is up to date.
The boat had a recent survey which revealed both good and not so good conditions.
The boat has interior cabin damage due to an slow seepage from the exterior. The headliner would need to be replaced. The wood bed for the v-berth is stained and slightly damaged....enough that it should be replaced.
The electrosan unit for the head should be replaced, The head is believed to be functioning, but needs a thorough cleaning.
Overall, the hull appeared solid and the engines strong. There is a possibility that the engine oil pans are seeping oil and might need new ones.
I do not have a copy of the recent survey, and cannot get one. But, I have had a conversation with the surveyor and received his general impression of the boat.
Bottom line: the important items like hull, deck, and engines are strong. Boat planes well and the low-hour engines do perform very well.
A major detailing would be required, electronics are dated, but a new owner would likely replace with electronics of their choosing.
One estimate for making this boat glisten and modern is $12K - $15K which appears to be realistic.
Note: the boat was originally equipped with a generator. The current owner removed the gen-set in favor of larger capacity fuel tanks. However, the owner says he believes a gen-set could be installed again and accessed in a different location in the engine compartment.
Note: one of the pics shows the boat on the hard; that is no longer applicable.....the boat is now reported to be stored indoors.
